Tell me how beautiful my Guinea fowl are
We are officially the crazy people with the “strange plucked turkeys,” as one man who stopped in my driveway put it.
The guineas are 4.5-months-old and they’re apparently as entertaining to the people who drive by as they are to me. People are parking in our drive to watch them and my husband and I get stopped on our way in and out by people curious about the birds.
You see, despite having wooded acreage and many crawling bugs by the house, the gang prefers to hang out in the grassy patch out front. I hung out with them longer than usual this morning and lured them to the back of the property with food. They are a wonderful escape from housekeeping and deadlines and politics y la buya.
And so because it has been a while since I photographed them, here they are, in all their juvenile glory.
And no, we won’t be making sopa (soup) out of them.

They have a wonderful Seuss-ish quality to them. How fun!
You are a true friend! Suess is a great description too!
Estan bellas,se parecen a la familia, una sopita nunca esta demas.
Just kidding.
They are beautiful! And yes, Seuss-like is exactly what I was thinking too.
They are pretty! You have to love them to really appreciate them. Most people think they’re ugly. It was nice visiting your blog.
