If my life was a telenovela, it would be titled….
This is the kind of caca I think about when I can’t sleep, or when I am doodling in my notebook, and you know, when I am avoiding work and mopping.
Since I have rounded up a few new Latina friends for you, and for me, this is a good time to throw the topic out there. God nows we all need a laugh. If I were braver than I appear, I would post a video of myself sobbing like a true Latina telenovela star — running mascara, push-up bra and all.
But, that is the sort of performance I reserve for my family. They love me no matter how much of an ass I look like while pretending that some Victor or Mario has left me por otra mujer. I go into the routine when my mother is here and insisting on watching her novelas. It amuses Maria, who loves to pretend cry, and in truth, I think it makes my husband a little hot.
So, while I have come up with titles that have words like “desesperada,” “dichosa,” and soberbia” in the title, not to mention “Cary con Cojones,” I think I like “La Echá Pa’lante.” (The one with gumption…)
So, if your life was a telenovela, what would it be titled?
My husband would probably pick one that’s already taken: “Amor a Palos.”
At least it was for me.
And now, I really gotta mop.

hahaha! Mine would be “sin codigo”!
My hubby says “Sangre de Lobos”. Apparently it was about a priest who falls in love with a woman (A la Padre Amaro, if you’ve seen that one). R was in seminary when we met. Unlike the novela, R did NOT continue along that road…:)
oh how I miss Chocolate con Pimienta! On MegaTV they always gave it the tag line “una miniserie that will make your mouth water…” I can’t remember it in spanish…
oh how I loved the costumes! why is Brazil so great at these?
Mine, quite simply, would be, “La Seria.” I heard a lot about how seria I was when I was growing up, but I never listened because my nose was always buried in a book.
That list of telenovelas was looong! Though I guess that’s not really surprising.
Disparates Surenos. That’s me. You, too, I’ll bet!
“Se la Comio” – it works on multiple levels. =D
These are great and inspired titles and they give me some insight about you guys…and @Marta, that is so you.
I think we need to do video follow-ups, dramatic music and everything!
Oh, you know i’m a novela fan don’t you? I only got hooked this summer after we got satellite tv (which is the only way we could get Spanish channels). Anyway, my favorites have been Univision’s “Querida Enemiga” and now “Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo.” (my other favorite titles, though I didn’t watch the novelas were: “Al Diablo con Los Guapos” and “Fuego en la Sangre.”)
My life as novela would maybe be “El Alma Al Aire” (after the Alejandro Sanz song).
