Diva of Dulce de Leche
So, the path to pro-blogging is through mucho advertising, paid blogging on somebody else’s site, becoming a consultant or the most popular among the mom bloggers, paid spokesmommying for a product or service. Of course, there’s always porn, but let’s pretend there isn’t.
How to go pro is a popular topic at blogging conferences. It’s money and validation, afterall, and not just sitting alone in a room shouting into the cybernets for free. (Kind of like what I am doing now…ahem.)
I have had a couple of blogging/spokesmommy offers from companies, and while tempted by riches, I walked away. The products were good, the companies lovely, but my gut told me they just weren’t the right fit for me.
So, because I too want to get in on the game, I put my brain to work to discover just whom I could go all blog-whorey for, just whom I would gladly bore the heck out of you over…and absolutely not care.
Tiffany, Apple, Honda, Canon and Bustelo all popped right into my brain. I’m no fool.
But then the real answer came to me in a big, giant, sugar-high flash: Dulce de Leche!
I’m all about the caramel sweet stuff. It’s always in the house, I put it on everything from bread to flan and I even carried back a giant glass jar from Buenos Aires once. How’s that for a testimonial?
So, because I believe in things like vision boards and putting it all out there for the Universe: I want to be the Diva of Dulce Leche, the Carrie of Cajeta, the Mami of Manjar!
Now, I just need someone to pay for my devotion.

…or Reina de Dulce de Leche!?? Okay, I’m still laughing from reading and watching this post. I love it Carrie!!! It has me pondering what I’d have zero problem pimpin’ out 24/7 – I think it would be shoes!!
Unfortunately, I don’t have any “dulce de leche” contacts for you BUT if I ever do – sending them your way!!!
If I could send Dulce de leche your way – I would :) Love the vlog.
Lizzie and Danielle, cool!
Thank you for visiting me during my quest for queendom…You both know I watch your videos and learn, right?
(And, so far, no calls from D-L manufacturers..or even Tiffany’s.)
Awesome! I call it “arequipe” and you are right it is the best thing ever…..who needs peanut butter when you can have arequipe. I get the single serving ones for my “lunch box” la lechera bottle of arequipe for easy access and I now found obleas in a mexican store that come with little sobrecitos de arequipe yummy. Leche condensada y arequipe are a must in this Alabama home!!
Veronica, never heard of arequipe…I love the sound of the word and now I am heading to the Mexican grocer to find “single serves.” Me muero!!!
I would sooo live in your Dulce de Leche Kingdom! Loved the video. Te la comiste! (<—Hey! That works on multiple levels!)
Besos,
Marta
Hahahaha! Hillarious! Of course you know I feel the same way about Cajeta (since I did name my blog after it. hahahah!)
Funny as always!
Is this the same as manjar blanco? I ate that stuff with a spoon in Peru, and it was the most amazing deliciousness I’ve ever had. There are always alfajores, too…yummm
Yes, manjar blanco…but didn’t sound as good with Mami of Manjar!
Lisa, of course, you too can be a diva of dulce leche/cajeta!
I found a great alfajores recipe here:

I love this guy at mattbites.com!
I sure love dulce de leche. Manjar Blanco is a coconut flan, actually in my country.
