    those are fantastics… and I thought I was the only crazy one demanding food from ‘home…. for me its Puerto Rico but I’ll take pastelitos, cafe, mallorcas any day before a souvenir from the island…..

    I was living in Austin, staying with my friends Dave and Laura, when I had a job interview in Miami. I stopped at a bakery to pick up a box of pastelitos de guayaba for Laura, who is Cuban, and carried it with me on my lap on the entire flight home. The flight was delayed — we sat on the runway for an extra hour — and I was afraid people were going to attack me for those delicious-smelling pastries!
