How familiar. You are DEFINITELY not alone. (I have those same noisy Cuban people in living in my head! =D)
My own bookshelves attest to the changes and challenges in my parenting and relationships. In fact, I should just start organizing my books chronologically by stage of life.(When my son was in high school it was: Parenting with Love and Logic – Cline & Fay)
    Been there. Done that.
Got the gray hairs to prove it.

Ah yes, Marta…Love and Logic was handed to me in that 22nd month by my best friend. Loved it and it works too, though the 1-2-3 is so fabulously less taxing on my brain. It would be hilarious to put notes inside the books for the kids’ future reading: Dear Maria, I read this when you were regularly refusing to brush your teeth and put on your shoes…Dear Maria, I read this book when you were in puberty and I was in menopause…
Looking forward to exchanging mami-ing ideas in the homeland soon, Marta!

you crack me up… I swear mi abuelita is up there laughing at me with my crazy 2 1/2 year old…. I was reprimanded by her last Sunday after church when I left her in the 2’s room during the service. When I came back she quickly added… “mami, you not ir bye bye, vamos a casa” in those exact words… ha ha ha….

Great post… I think about those issues a lot. I guess I need to buy more books — I don’t have any of those and I sure need them!
