Life is good
I have been to Paris in April and it was indeed, lovely. I am convinced, however, there is nothing like Miami in January. Big, puffy white clouds, endless blue skies and gentle breezes. It’s especially delicious when you’ve been living in lined mommy jeans in Nashville.
We are in Miami for a few days not for touristy pleasure, really, but for family.
My mom has had her cancer surgery and I am joyous to report she will go on to joder Cuban Mother-style for many, many years.
All is good.
All is very good.
Will be back in touch pronto…after a few more days and a trip or two to El Palacio de los Jugos.

Wonderful news! Many blessings and warm wishes to your mamá…
Hi Carrie
I just discovered your blog!
I am relieved to hear that your mama’s surgery went well.
I envy you, going to El Palacio. I can just see the old guy out back, stogie in his mouth, working with the sugar cane…
Have a maracuya for me.

I wish you well :) Melek
What Cancer Can’t do
Cancer is so limited
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot erode faith
It cannot eat away peace
It cannot destroy confidence
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot shut out memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot reduce eternal life
It cannot quench the spirit

Oh, I’m so glad to hear that the surgery was a success! I’ll keep praying for her and your family.
I’m sorry to hear you mom has been ill but very happy to hear she is well on her way to recovery.
I don’t know if you are on Twitter.com or not but some of us there have created a wonderful little movement against cancer and for cancer research. You and you mom may get some inspiration from the love and outreach from folks all over the world via the internet. I hope it makes you and your Mami smile.

I have to agree, Miami is quite nice in Jan. We had a few cold snaps in Dec but I actually liked them. It doesn’t feel like the holidays to me when it’s too hot.
Enjoy Mami and Miami!
Que siga jodiendo! What great news!
Send her my love,
Marta
So very glad to hear all is well with your mami!
Hey mama! I’ve been out of the blog loop for a while so I didn’t know about your mom. I’m glad to hear that everything turned out well. Sending her (and you) much love and well wishes!
